There are many homes in existence that have at least one room with a carpet. Carpets are a common flooring choice across the world. However, as with most things in a home, carpets need to be maintained. If they have been maintained well they should last for a couple of years. Even so, there will be a time when you need to replace your carpet. It could be because your carpets are old or in need of a styling update. Snupit can make it easy to find professional carpet installation services in your city. Bearing that in mind, here are 5 different carpet styles to consider.
1. Level Loop Style
A level loop carpet is made up of looped bits of yarn. The looped bits of yarn form puffy tufts of carpet that make the carpet springy and nice to walk on bare foot. The carpet is referred to as a level loop carpet because all of the loops are the same height. This makes the carpet appear nice and neat and works well in most spaces.
2. Berber Style
This is a highly popular carpet style as it has an interesting and appealing texture. The yarn threads that make up the carpet are looped in a similar manner to the level loop style. However, the difference lies in the fact that the Berber style carpet is often made with thicker yarn in order to increase its durability. It should be noted that the Berber style carpet is probably more suitable for less formal spaces. The carpet is also extremely practical as footprints and vacuum marks don’t show easily. However, it is important to be careful when installing the Berber style carpet as you need to pay attention to the seam placement.
3. Multilevel loop style
This carpet style features loops of a different height. This gives the carpet a unique texture that is interesting for less conventional spaces. If you are trying to give the room a quirky touch then opt for this carpet style. However, make sure that you are careful when moving furniture in an and out of this space as it may catch on to some of the carpet threads.
4. Frieze style
The frieze style carpet is made up of curled or twisted tufts. The texture is great as it completely hides footprints and creates a soft springy carpet. This carpet is conducive for spaces in which there is a high amount of thoroughfare. A space like this could include the stairs or a kids bedroom.
5. Velvet Style
This style of carpet is identifiable by its smooth and immaculate appearance. It creates an elegant look that is great for more formal spaces. A velvet carpet has no twists or fibres, however it can be very high maintenance. It is important to clean the carpet regularly and avoid using harsh cleaning products that could harden the velvet.
