In South Africa, having a private security company with an emergency alarm system in place is almost a necessity for every household. This comes at a great monthly expense, and it may sometimes feel as though you are paying for nothing, especially if you do not often require any assistance, but continue to pay the subscription “just in case”. Feel the benefit of your security company by actively using their services, even if there is no emergency. Here are some services your security company offers that you probably didn’t know about.
1. Escort
You are paying for security. If you are driving home alone at night and feel that you would benefit from having someone follow you, and watch over you until you are safely locked away at home, you are most certainly able to request this from your security company. Security company cars are generally just parked at night, waiting for action. If you or a family member is on their way home, simply phone the company with your house address and ask them to meet you in your road and safely help you into your home.
2. Nightly patrol
Anytime that you feel vulnerable, you are able to call your security company and have them arrive. Whether you are alone at home, there is an increase in crime in your area, or you feel vulnerable for any reason at all. You can make an arrangement with the company that they patrol your home and check your garden every night at a certain time, for weeks at a time. Furthermore, if you wake up at night and simply feel afraid, you can call them and have them do a full patrol of your premises and around your road.
3. Be the bouncer
Much as we see people being removed from office buildings in movies by their security, we can do the same in our home. If you find yourself feeling overpowered or in an unpleasant situation you can’t escape, you can call your security company to remove any unwelcome visitors from your home. There can be no legal action via the security company, this will have to be done at a police station. You can also have an alarm system fitted with no security company attached. It will be a strong deterrent because no one knows what will happen next.
Security companies want you to take advantage of everything you offer. You are paying for their time. Do not be afraid that your phone call will be a bother or an inconvenience. These are part of what you are paying for, and requesting extra help is most welcome. The last thing you want is to pay for something you never use simply because of “just in case”. It’s also not a subscription you can use up or finish, so do use it to the full advantage it has to offer.
