Spa

A visit to the spa with a few close friends, a sister or even your mother may sound like a cliché, but if it is, it exists that way for a good reason. There is absolutely nothing as relaxing and revitalising as a day in the hands of professionals, making you look and feel like the Goddess you really are. Some first-time patrons may feel rather uncertain as to whether they should arrive at the spa exactly as their appointment starts, wearing certain clothing or should they bring anything or leave anything specific? Here is the run-down on what is accepted at a salon, and what is best trimmed, shaped or cleaned at home to enhance your experience at the spa!

1.    Fashionably Early, Please

Arrive 15 minutes before your appointment is due to start. This gives the therapist time to ask questions to prepare in any way if necessary, give you a tour of the facilities, switch off your cell phone and have a glass of water without eating into your appointment time or causing the spa to run late. It may also happen that the appointment before you cancels and you may be seen early. Either way, it is a show of etiquette that is always deeply appreciated. The purpose of your visit to the spa is to unwind, running late will be counterproductive to you and the spa.

2.    Lose The Jewellery

Obviously, by lose, we mean safely store your jewellery at home. Whether you are getting a spray tan, a deep massage or going for waxing treatment, in most cases the spa therapist will require you to remove your jewellery. To prevent rings and small items from being lost, rather leave everything safely at home and contained somewhere secure. The spa will not accept responsibility for loss or theft, and it is, of course, preferable to keep on good terms with everyone.

3.    To Talk, Or Not to Talk That is The Question

Actually, there is no question here. If you feel that engaging in quiet chit chat will enhance the relaxation you wish to experience, the therapist will fall in with that and take your lead. If you have come hoping for some peace and quiet, the therapist will oblige on that too. The therapist will take your lead in this regard, so it really is your decision to do whatever will make you the happiest.

4.    Cancel the Ringa-ling

Most businesses, like doctors and therapists, will request the clients to mute their cell phones during consultations. A spa is no exception to this rule. Ensure that as soon as you called from the waiting room, that you mute your phone. A ringing phone and telephone conversations can disrupt the serenity and tranquillity for all of the clients and is considered to be extremely rude. The spa visit should be your chance to block out the stresses of life and inhale the scented oils and just find a moment of peace for yourself.
