Blinds

Are you investing in new blinds for your home or office? Curtains do a great job of blocking the natural light and providing shade. In fact, often, curtains become a part of the décor of your room. However, blinds are lighter, easier to maintain, and more affordable as well. Hence, you might consider them a superior option to curtains. While selecting the best blinds from the market is not difficult, installation can be a hassle, particularly if you don’t call in professionals to install the blinds.

To make things easier for you, here is a brief guide on how you should install blinds:

Bracket Installation

You need to start by installing the brackets that come in the package. These brackets are shaped like small cubes. You have to install them in the inner corners of the windows. The ideal position of the brackets is that one side faces the center while the other straight out. The blinds will be placed within the brackets, whereas the strings will drop inside the room. Locate the plastic pieces that will help you secure the blinds. These pieces should slide smoothly into place in the brackets.

Fix the Wand

The next step of the process is attaching the wand. The wand connects to the controller you use for operating the blinds. You have to follow the manual for installing the brackets as well as the wand. Installing the wand perfectly is important to ensure you can close or open the blind slats perfectly.

Adjust the Blinds

Once you fix the wand, all you are left with is adjusting the blinds. You have to alter the length of the blinds to ensure they don’t extend below the windows. Generally, this process is easier because the manual will guide you on how to shorten the blinds. If you have selected the right blinds, the bottom of the blinds will hit against the windowsill. Once you extend them fully, locate the retaining tabs at the bottom and remove them. After this, you have to extract the larger piece, which will unfasten the strings.

You have to cut the strings according to the length the blinds have to cover. There will be extra slats that you have to throw out. After this, replace the larger bottom piece. You have to tie the strings and fit them into the rung.

These are some simple steps you can follow to install blinds perfectly. As you can see, the process doesn’t have to be complicated. As long as you stick to the instructions provided by the manufacturer, you will not have a hard time with the blinds. However, if you are installing blinds in an office, it is better to opt for professional blinds installers rather than taking the DIY route. Professional blinds installation will help you make a great impression on all the visitors to your premises.
