Getpix Creative College has a consistent aim to educate our students, so that they can go out into the market place with their chosen profession as confident, creative, knowledgeable entrepreneurs.
We pride ourselves on small classes with individual attention. We really do know our visually artistic students and listen to their concerns.
We teach students to become photographers, graphic designers, makeup artists, videographers, sound engineers and gaming developers. We start right at the very beginning so they can grow steadily and firmly in their dedicated path to success.
Our youngest full time student is 13 years old. He is completing his 1 year photographic course every morning at GETPIX and is home schooled for high school in the afternoons – talk about his dedication! Most of our students have just completed their matric - but you do not need matric or any subjects or grades to study with us, neither do you need any set subjects. Artistic people require passion and dedication for their chosen career.
Our tertiary school branches are based in Benoni, Sandton, and Roodepoort in Gauteng, Durbanville in Cape Town, and Vanderbilpark in the Vaal Triangle. We will continue to grow. Our 11 dynamic instructors are all active within the industry.
Our college offers studies for 1 year courses in Photography and Graphic Design. Videography, Makeup artistry, sound engineering and Gaming development courses are 6 months. Online or correspondence courses as well as part time, short courses, are other options of study.
Some students complete a one year course and continue with a second course. Why? Because, so many of these courses work hand in hand. The more you know, the less you have to pay someone else to do a job - knowing more increases your earning potential.
We teach you the industry standard Adobe software: Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Premier Pro, and After Effects, along with hands on practical experience to understand how this software will enhance your artistic vision.
Workshops, outings and tours all form part of GETPIX studies.
Whether you are looking for a gap year to learn a creative skill or maybe you are wanting to make your creative choice your profession, pop in for a coffee and a chat or attend one of our open days. Accommodation is nearby for those from out of town. We can assist with educational loan applications. Payment plans available.
