NEWTECT GLOBAL TRADING (Pty) Ltd t/a NEWTECT GLOBAL TRAINING, is a registered company specialising in the on-site training, certification and re-certification of lifting equipment operators in terms of Regulation R 1075 as published in the Government Gazette of 21 June 2015.
Basically these regulations make provision for the following:
1. Section 8 has the following specific condition: Operators without a valid certificate/carry card shall not operate the relevant lifting equipment/machine in the working or operating environment. This is enforced by the Department of Labour.
2. All operators of lifting equipment, i.e. cranes of all types, forklifts of all types etc. have to undergo training on the specific machine(s) by an accredited training provider. This training is specified in section 8 of the Regulations, basically a person who has never been certificated on a particular piece of lifting equipment or a person whose certification has expired for more than 90 days is to be regarded as a novice and has to undergo theory and practical training equal to the notional hours applicable to the relevant Unit Standard.
3. In the case of re-certification the training takes the form of 4 hours theory training with special emphasis on safety and 1 hour practical training.
4. A certificate of competence is valid for a period of 24 months and has to be renewed within 90 days of the expiry date.
Mr Moore, based in Bloemfontein, is a registered Facilitator, Assessor & Moderator with the Transport SETA, NAMD, ETDP, MERSETA and is available to perform training, certifications and re-certification of lifting equipment operators on site.
