Hello, my name is Gretha Garnett, and I am a biokineticist with over 20 years of experience in the health and wellness industry. After running a successful biokinetics practice in Johannesburg for many years, I recently relocated to the beautiful city of Bloemfontein with my son and took a bold leap of faith by starting a brand-new practice from the ground up.
Now based in a well-equipped, welcoming studio in Heuwelsig, I provide personalized, results-driven biokinetic care in a space designed for comfort, accessibility, and privacy—away from the overwhelming environment of a commercial gym. With ample parking and convenient access, my practice caters to individuals of all ages and fitness levels.
My areas of specialization include orthopaedic, neurological, and cardiac rehabilitation, as well as performance and functional training for both recreational and professional athletes. I am passionate about integrated, holistic care and often collaborate with physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals to support each patient’s unique journey toward healing, strength, and performance.
I began my biokinetics career with an internship under Ilse Senekal Biokineticist at Milpark Hospital in 2006, and went on to establish my own practice in 2007. Since then, I have treated a wide range of conditions—from joint replacements, brain and heart injuries, to elite-level athletes preparing for world championships.
My approach is hands-on, detailed, and precise. I work with the body as a complete kinetic chain, identifying weak links that may lead to poor movement patterns, decreased performance, or risk of injury. By correcting these imbalances, I help my patients not only recover but thrive.
Each treatment begins with a comprehensive initial assessment, including:
• Full medical history
• Posture and gait analysis
• Functional screening and risk assessment
• Fitness evaluation and baseline testing
Depending on each patient’s goals, I also offer:
• One-on-one rehabilitation and exercise therapy
• Core training, sports massage, and flexibility work
• Monitoring of heart rate, blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose
• Sport-specific performance training
• Body composition analysis
I tailor every session to the individual—whether child, adult, or senior—ensuring that exercises are performed safely and correctly. I believe in equipping each person to understand their own body and movement before introducing any home program, which contributes significantly to my patients’ long-term success.
My practice operates with extended hours to fit into your schedule:
Monday–Thursday: 05:00–19:00
Friday: 05:00–17:00
Saturday: 06:00–13:00
