The concept started as an idea by Sebabala J. Ledwaba through his admiration for Arts and Building Structures from an early childhood age .

He brought together his experience (Sales and Marketing) to form Nkhulo Sebabala Projects registered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Republic of South Africa. Both Sebabala Thatches and Sebabala Woods span a period of 10 years of experience each being active within their respective fields.
