The feet are the pillars of the body, they are the ones that support all our weight and are responsible for our wandering. The foot is an architectural work consisting of 170 ligaments, 19 intrinsic muscles and 26 bones. All these structures must work synchronously. The average person takes approximately 8000 to 10000 steps per day; and, in a lifetime, walks 115000 miles, which is an equivalent of four times around the world!
The feet help us with ambulation and the physical activities of daily life. 80% of adults present pains and problems in their feet during their maturity and it is perhaps for this reason that it becomes a reason for regular consultation.
At both our Constantia and Rondebosch practices we specialized in the integral treatment of foot pathology. Specialising in biomechanics, sports pathology and care for the diabetic foot, we offer a wide range of services ranging from the treatment of all conditions of the skin, nails, bone pathology and soft tissue.
