A loan should only be taken if you have the assurance in writing that an investment, bonus or donation will be paid on a specific date. One should never use one loan to pay another. That is being irresponsible. One should never use a loan to "get through the month". That is being fearful. One should never use a loan to cover a gambling debt. That is called being emotionally unbalanced. Most importantly, one should never use a loan to buy an expensive gift, whether for yourself or another person. That is called being stupid.
