Huis Nuweland, apart from being located in a beautiful part of Cape Town, is unique in many ways. Whilst forming part of a large organisation, we have retained the homely atmosphere and this quality truly separates us from the rest. The atmosphere created by our residents and staff has produced a home from home trademark, which is extremely rare in our industry.
In addition to caring for the aged, Huis Nuweland also prides itself on its good relationship with the families of its residents, and its local community i.e. schools, churches, scouts, doctors etc. These are all people that have an emotional link with Huis Nuweland, and who have helped enable the Home to survive for the past 40 years.
At present we have 24 Rooms in our Assisted Living Section, 27 Flats in Independent Living and 21 rooms in our Frail Care Section, 10 of which are shared rooms.
In Frail Care and Assisted Living, three meals are provided a day – the main meal being at lunch time. In Independent Living, the main meal is provided. In all areas, cleaning and laundry service come as part of the package, all provided by outside Contractors.
24-hour nursing care is provided in our Frail Care section, which includes administering of medicines, bathing, toileting and feeding where required.
