The Hungry Den Thatchfield Glen, Centurion  

Fantastic owners, delicious food and takeaway friendly.

It was load shedding so my hubby decided to take me to Goldrush Bingo casino in Centurion. Hungry Den is the catering service that provides all the food there. It was a busy afternoon, but the owners came and met me personally. Their waitress is also very friendly and well mannered. I had the chicken curry and rice and it was simply delicious. Hubby had their crumbed spicy chicken wings and chips. The portion sizes were good enough for two people. The meals for two cost us less than R200. Will definitely recommend The Hungry Den to my neighbors and friends from Thatchfield estates.

I am very skeptical about eating out but the Hungry Den has changed my perception because of their delicious, freshly prepared snacks and meals. Being from Durban myself, I enjoy curries and samoosas very much. The owners came and met me in person. Service with a smile and their prices are very reasonable. Four of us had starters and a main meal for under R450. When we eat elsewhere the same meal costs us nothing less than R650. Keep up the good work, you guys deserve all the support from people who enjoy and appreciate good food.

Thank you guys, your food was divine. I always crave for Durban Indian curry in Centurion and The Hungry Den made me feel at home. The samoosas are full of lamb mince and they are large in size. The lamb curry is somehting I will always recommend to my family and friends in Centurion. I was surprise at the price especially being inside a Casino where everything is expensive. Wow , what a pleasure for me to write about my experience with food from The Hungry Den. We went to Goldrush Bingo Casino Mall@Reds. THe Hungry Den waitress approached us to check if were hungry. The special for the day was lamb curry and rice, my favourite. We ordered lamb samoosas as a snack and two lamb curry and rice. The curry was delicious and the samoosas were large, fresh and made with only lamb mince. The owners came to meet us and check how we enjoyed our meals. Personal attention and really friendly service is whats unique and different about the Hungry Den. You guys are simply amazing. We will always visit The Hungry Den , Mall@Reds whenever we need genuine SA Indian food and snacks. Good luck to you guys!

You guys are simply amazing! Never eaten such delicious lamb curry and rice before. They only cook leg of lamb slices in their curry which is so soft and tasty. Most of the take aways we buy from sell bony mutton pieces and we pay more for bone less meat elsewhere. I enjoy their samoosas, pure lamb mince, no soya or cabbage and very little onions. This is what a proper samosas shoud consist of. My family and i will always support the Hungry Den and its Halaal as well.

The foor from The Hungry Den is excellent. We went to Goldrush Bingo casino at Reds Mall where they sell the most delicious food. The lamb samoosas is the best i have eaten, not to mention the delicious lamb curry and rice. Although the place was busy, the owners take the time to meet and greet customers and take the orders as well. Service with a smile is what makes them different. Freshly prepared snacks and meals are done within 7 to 10 minutes and the prices are not expensive especially being based inside a casino. I will recommend The Hungry Den to anyone who loves good food in Centurion

Excellent service by the owners and their team of dedicated, passionate and friendly staff made our function a huge success. Their large lamb samoosas, mutton breyani as well as the salads and dessert was enjoyed by all our guests. Great tasty food and great service.

Seafood Meals. fresh line fish curry, cooked the traditionally Indian Style, was delicious with a extra tang in the gravy, keeping the fish steak slices firm, yet soft in every bite, fish roes in a similar diced tomato red tamarind paste sauce with roti and rice was tantalising to the taste buds. The prawns shell on (headless) was succulent with a bit of peri peri flavour and some exotic spices for the special outstanding flavour. The mutton kebabs itself was good, however, the 'meat ball' itself wasn't full of flavour and moisture, the actual sauce was tasty though, as prepared as a 'curry' and not as kebabs on a skewer.

It is an absolute pleasure and a great privilege for me to compliment The Hungry Den for serving my company with delicious authentic Indian meals and snacks for our company functions and corporate training needs. I have been associated with this company for more than 10 years already. Being born in India and having explored many South African Indian cuisines over the years, the food from The Hungry Den is bar the best I have eaten in Gauteng. Their curries and biryanis are prepared to perfection. They only cook Halaal meat and chicken, no pork whatsoever. I will always support Raj and Anesh and I am proud to recommend this company to anyone who is hosting or planning a function in and around Midrand and Centurion regions.
