Midrent cc was established in April 1992 as a new business, situated in an old house in Midrand. A father and son team, Louw and Gideon Oosthuizen bought the business, on 1 May 1996. Nine months later Louw’s son in law, Henk Swanepoel, joint the team as manager. In May 1999 the company relocated to their current premises in the Midrand CBD. There is a staff contingent of 12 people working as a well-oiled team. This family business has gone from strength to strength in the 12 years since the Oosthuizen family had been in charge.
No function is to big or to small and the company caters for small home held events to large corporate functions. Situated in Midrand, work can comfortably be done in either Pretoria and Johannesburg. This company works in the Gauteng region, and also the borders of the neighboring provinces.
Functions they were involved in includes a Curriecup semi-final and final at Loftus Versveld in Pretoria, a youth day function for 2000 people where deputy president Mlambo-Ngcuka was the guest of honour, the road tour of ABSA where the C E O met with the management in various provinces, the official testing of the BAR and Williams F1 Grand Prix teams at Kyalami and the Altec F1 Grand Prix, also at Kyalami, to name but a few. Midrent’s exceptional service contributed to the success of these functions.
