We have to look after this six inches or 15cm of soil and ensure that plants can obtain everything they need from this layer! The drought we are experiencing is highlighting one key element which is going to be a BIG problem in the future Water! Less water runoff and increased water holding capacity will help us get through droughts. One of the best methods is to apply organic matter.

Organic material applied as a mulch will decrease water runoff, improve water absorption into the soil, and also decrease water evaporation from soil. More water will therefore be available for plant growth and survival! Applied composted organic material not only recycle nutrients, it applies microbes to help plant health, and improves most soil types water holding capacity! Therefore more water is absorbed and less is lost due to gravity!

Our aim is to help producers/gardeners maintain their soil by recycling of nutrients, organic matter and water removed by harvesting of produce or removal of plants.
