The Polygraph, better known as a Lie Detector, can be used as an investigate tool in the end that dishonesty arises, to identify those innocent persons who may be implicated and to identify who may be involved.
This assists in shortening the investigative process, saving time, money and manpower.
The computerized Polygraph system consists of a Data Acquisition System, which is the actual Polygraph into which the recording components plug in. The data is then converted into digital format and displayed on the computer screen. The examiner has the option of running the chart through in real time, or prints it after the examination. The polygraph recording components are made up of the following. Cardio Cuff, Galvanic Skin Conductance plates, Pneumo Tubes and an Electronic movement sensor. The computerized system has five recording devices which include audible and visual recordings.
The polygraph instruments are attach to the body of an examiner and are handled by a qualified practitioner and certified Forensic Psycho Physiologist. The polygraph has the ability to determine whether a person has been truthful and whether s/he has disclosed all s/he know or suspect about the matter. The theory of Psycho physiological Detection of Deception (PDD): Fear of detection of deception causes physiological changes to occur within the subject’s body. These physiological changes can be diagnosed by a trained examiner. The polygraph examination: Is set out in three phases:
- Pre-test;
- In-Test;
- Post-Test.
Duration of test: Approximately between 1 and 2 hours according to polygraph association standards. Tests are conducted at the client’s premises.
Test office requirements: Quiet office with a table, two chairs and an electric plug.
The Polygraph examiner:
Forensic interviews and polygraph examinations will be conducted by Rosie le Roux, a qualified Forensic Psycho-Physiologist, accredited by APA (American Polygraph Association). Rosie le Roux received her training as a forensic Psycho-Physiologist (Polygraph Examiner) from the American International Institute of Polygraph. Her experience is also gained from 19 years of Police Service, Investigation of crime with a Detective course. She also has a diploma in Police Administration and received award for the Best Detective as well as Best Police Officer.
Her passion for the truth and honesty, devote her to help the Truthful and Honest Person and to expose the Guilty persons for who they are.
