Best Blend Creative Inc (BBC Inc) was founded by South African legendary artist, Themba “Dreader” Malaza. Dreader also known as Dreda or DreadOne is the only representative of the international graffiti crew, XMEN WORLDWIDE, on the African continent.
Dreda has been involved in the aerosol and visual arts since 1995, he is also the longest standing graffiti artist from Johannesburg, South Africa. He has been featured in the World Piece Book wherein he and another artist are the only Africans whose works appear in the book.
He was interviewed for Graffiti South Africa book along with images of his work appearing in the book. He has won a number of competitions, namely the Red Bull Skate Jam and the Brainstorm Magazine competition.
Dreader was also awarded the Best Artwork award by the Sunday Times newspaper during a Cell-C Mural Campiaign. He has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions and participated in a countless number of community building projects.
Due to the difficulties experienced by under-privileged artists in order to show their works in art galleries Dreader and a group of friends founded Tabalaza Art Fair – a do-for-self mobile art gallery showcasing South Africa’s up-and-coming talents specialising in visual and performing arts on a monthly basis.
While trailblazing the Johannesburg graffiti scene, he conceived the idea of starting his own agency and this is how Best Blend Inc was born. The company specialises in outdoor advertising, murals, custom artworks, portraiture, branding and design. BBC Inc also host graffiti lectures and artistic workshops, educating the masses about the art of graffiti with youth being the main target.
