Mila the Cake shop has been open since 2008 and was the dream-child of Pastry Chef & Owner Louise Veldhuizen. After working at Meerendal Wine Estate for two years with chef Wade van der Merwe, Louise moved to London; and under the guidance chef Eric Landlard, Louise perfected her skills in creating cakes and desserts fit for a king. A small trip to Spain inspired & infused the idea of a cake shop, and so the Mila came to South Africa.

Situated in the very heart of Stellenbosch, Mila stands its ground in Dorp Street: the old main street of the town, in which there are many handsome old whitewashed houses, some of them with elaborate Cape Dutch gables. With its similarities to a European~style confectionery, Mila offers a fresh range of couture desserts, made freshly each day, which can be ordered online from their website.
