Umhlanga Ocean Charters is an ocean sight-seeing boat charter business based in Umhlanga, Durban, South Africa.
Owned and skippered by Zaan Grobler, who has over 15 years experience and over 20 000 launches to take you out to sea and back safely. Zaan has a reputation for safety as well as being one of the best Skippers along the Umhlanga coastline.
The vessel is a 7.2 metre hard-nose rubber duck which seats eleven passengers, powered by two 85 horse power Yamaha engines. As safety comes first, we cater for passengers from five years old and up.
Our personal attention and the experience and knowledge of the Umhlanga Coastline that only a local can offer, make our boat trips different from the rest and will allow you to experience an in-depth view of the area.
Our 1 hour boat trips allow you to experience the thrill of surf launching as well as learning about the ocean and rich marine life that the East Coast of KZN has to offer. We encounter most of our marine life near the coast line and shark nets, and out at the ships. Should the visibility be clear, we also offer snorkelling in designated areas.
We also offer longer boat trips should you wish to enjoy a longer time taking in the beauty and the fresh salt air.
