Don’t make any payments to a building contractor until you have fully reviewed at least 20 references AND have seen the final work delivered, together with invoices, and payments to him and proof that his workers have been paid in full and that they have been working for him for a quite a wile. And very important you have seen and inspect the final product at the various completed sites, speaking to the clients, face to face, no telephone calls, and only view completed work, not half the work as a building contractor will do half the work and then disappear without a trace. Does anybody have the same experience and what do you do to get the work done correctly asap? Or how do you get your money back for the outstanding work and items that were not delivered. He didn’t pay his workers. He keeps on giving lame excuses for the past 7 weeks. He told his workers not to come in. The project was suppose to be finished in 3 weeks. We are on week 7, and have already paid him in full, R125k. It was suppose to be a studio for my 84 year old aunt. Now I have almost nothing to show.
