Global Specialised Systems (formly Insulation Converters & Distributors) was founded in 1987 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal by Basil Hollister and his wife Glenda. The Company grew into a reputable distributor and supplier of a range of fiberglass and mineral wool products for thermal, fire and acoustic applications. Products such as “Think Pink” Aerolite are world-class in its ability to provide an efficient domestic environment.
Global Specialised Systems continued to grow as a leading supplier of innovative products into the Construction, Industrial, Petro Chemical, Power Generation, and Appliance and Air Conditioning market sectors amongst others.
Global Specialised Systems is strategically located in the Jacobs industrial area South of Durban and services the inland and coastal markets respectively as well as countries in Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.
46 people are employed in the Durban office, which includes support personnel on sales, importation, accounts, procurement, logistics, and customer relations desks.
Global Specialised Systems procures products accredited in accordance to ISO 9002 and manufactured to the Quality Assurance and Safety Management Systems and recognized international standards.
Global Specialised Systems have embraced the South African Governments Black Business Economic Empowerment (BBEE) initiative and it is compliant with the requirements set out.
