SKCM originated from the firm JW Stein & Partners who opened their first offices in Windhoek and Pretoria in 1956. Through the years the company transformed into Steinhobel, Keller and Chantler Consulting Engineers in 1982 , SKC Engineers (Pty) Ltd in 1996 and finally into SKCMasakhizwe Engineers (Pty) Ltd (SKCM) in 2005.

At present SKCM has offices in Pretoria (Head Office) , Paarl, Malmesbury, Durban, Mbombela, Polokwane and Aliwal Noord. We have recently opened an office in Maputo in association with a local concern.

The offices work in close liaison with one another. Modern communication technology makes it possible for one office to seamlessly draw on expertise and resources available in any of other offices when required.
