We visited Old Mill Lodge recently and had a very good time. We loved the overall vibe of the lodge, the positive energy you experience when you stay there. The Restaurant on the premises is very conveniet and highly recommended. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. The manager, Cokes, was friendly and accommodating. It is so peaceful, very well located between Oudtshoorn and The Cango Caves with enough attractions close to the lodge.

We are situated at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains in Schoemanshoek, just 14 km on your way from Oudtshoorn to the World Famous Cango Caves. We are a working ostrich farm only in season. Watch as we farm with ostrich chicks and fully grown ostriches. We have a big variety of activities:

4x4 route, bow hunting, hiking, fishing, two swimming pools, play area for children, horse riding nearby, Cango Ostrich Farm and more attractions.

Enjoy lunch and dinner in our a la carte Restaurant, Oudtshoorn in Schoemanshoek, just a few kilometres from Oudtshoorn with a spectacular view of mountains, gardens and the Grobelaarsriver that crosses our farm. It is a historic building with the Old Mill still inside the Restaurant. Approx. 150 years old. The farm obtained its name from the old mill. All the wheat from the valley was milled on the farm. At that stage there were hundreds of mills all over the country. In Oct. 2003 Christo & Doret Spies changed the old building into an a la carte Restaurant. The Restaurant is open daily.
