The Cape Eye Hospital was established in 1994 by a group of leading ophthalmologists who realised the need for a specialist eye care facility in Cape Town, the first dedicated eye hospital in the Western Cape and only the second countrywide.

The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and facilities ensuring the very best in-patient care.
In addition to the original 4-theatre, 30-bed capacity, the hospital recently expanded and launched its dedicated laser suite, Cape Eye Laser late in 2014, one of the most advanced facilities on the continent. The eye laser suite houses the latest excimer laser apparatus, cutting edge diagnostic equipment and a 90-seater auditorium.
