We had an impromptu lunch at the Big Easy on a Saturday during a leisurely day in Stellenbosch. We ate in the formal dining room and were the only one on that day. The room was elegant, well decorated and clearly "posh". The menu and wine list matched the atmosphere. Between the two of us, we had foie gras, oysters, duck confit and a very high quality hamburger finished by a great dessert plates. Wines were superb including the Klein Constantia. Service was very attentionnate and we could not fault our waiter. There was also a more informal dining room serving more brasserie style dishes and there were a few more customers at the table. By South African standards, this was not a cheap experience but we truly enjoyed it and would certainly return on the occasion of a next visit. I can truly imagine that for a special occasion (wedding anniversary, birthday, etc.), this could be the special venue you should be looking for
