Dr Vatharajh completed her medical degree (MBChB) at Walter Sisulu University, in Umtata, Eastern Cape. In 2004, she worked at King Edward Hospital as an intern and started her community service in 2005. It was during this time that Dr Vatharajh discovered her love of working with people.

In 2006, Dr Vatharajh started working as a Medical officer in the Casualty Department at King Edward Hospital for two years. She then discovered her passion in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and became a registrar in 2008, in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department.

In 2014, she began her consultancy career at King George and Addington Hospital in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department. During this time, Dr Vatharajh enrolled in several courses, including Master’s of Medicine (MMED) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a Laparoscopic course at Witwatersrand Medical School. She also submitted her research paper, titled “Prophylactic Oophorectomy: current practice and the need for guidelines”, at The South African Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Cape Town in 2014. She subsequently won first prize for this research project. In 2016 she then enrolled in a European Aesthetic course in Vaginal and vulval rejuvenation.

In 2016, Dr Vatharajh took on private practice at Netcare Parklands Hospital in Durban as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and has been working there ever since. As a mother, she understands the emotional and physical challenges of being an expectant mum. She strives to treat all her patients with warmth and care.
