Toilet hire

If you are planning an outdoor wedding, festival, event, or construction, have you considered where your crew, guests, or festival-goers are going to relieve themselves?  Unless you have a very open-door policy and no personal space issues, you should consider a portable toilet hire for your event or project.  You don’t want to be caught in the eleventh hour with no restroom, and last-minute toilet hires tend to be rather expensive, so even though it’s a little bit of a smelly subject, we are bringing you our tips on hiring a portable toilet.

There’s Always a Line – Book Your Toilet Hire in Advance

Toilet hires are expensive to buy, so the availability is limited even among companies who specialize in high end VIP toilet trailers.  If you’re renting between late spring and early fall, try to book your toilet hire at least 3 months in advance.   It seems excessive, but believe us – doing it early is much better than being caught with your proverbial pants down without a toilet – if you’ll pardon the expression – on the day.

Location, Location, Location – Know Where to Park Your Johns

When renting your toilet hire, consider where they are going to sit at your event.  Make sure there is an easy path to and from them so that guests can find them easily and find their way back, but if you’re planning a wedding or festival, you may not want them to be too front-and-center.  If you’re considering a restroom trailer, find out what side of the trailer the doors are on, to make sure the driver can get easily in and out when they are delivered and removed.

Consider Special Restroom Needs

Do any of your guests have special restroom needs?  Make sure they are accommodated when you book your toilet hire.  Some models actually have a water supply and waste storage, but the capacity is limited, and the water can run out.  Let the toilet hire agency know how many guests you will have, what kind of needs they will have, and if you are expected older or disabled guests, make sure you can accommodate them.

Getting portable toilets for your event, festival, wedding, or construction project is not difficult, but it is worth the time to plan ahead and book early.  Toilet hires can be delivered via a truck, usually with either a tail lift, or in a single trailer in the case of nicer toilets.  Your delivery vehicle may need extra room to maneuver, so discuss your situation with the agency before you book to make sure you have plenty of room.  Additionally, consider hiring a portable toilet nearby, as this will be both more convenient for service and delivery, and will reduce your out of pocket costs as well.
