Info on Pearly Knits:
We price by style. We do not have a catalogue. Most customers send us requirements from our Facebook pictures so we know which style they want. Some copy and paste the pic from our Facebook page into their email. Some customers send us pics from the internet and we then try source the pattern or do a version of their pic.
The price is determined by the following:
When you buy a handmade item, you are paying for the following:
A trip to the Yarn shop to choose yarn and buttons (Time and Petrol).
Average yarn prices and yarns used:
Elle Family double knit is the cheapest +- R26 for 50 g ball
Elle Gold 4 ply is more expensive +- R50 for 100g ball
Elle baby yarn is more expensive + R25 to R50 a ball depending on yarn make
Coffee Cotton +- R45 for 100g ball
Chunky +- R38 for 100g
Any of the cotton or wool rich yarns are more expensive. We would have to go to the yarn shops to check on these as we do not keep them in stock.
Styling
How plain or complicated the style is. If there are lots of colour changes, flowers, embroidery work, complicated knitting patterns and lots of threads to sew away the price is higher than for a plain jersey.
Average use of yarn (depending on Size, colours and pattern);
0 to 3 years – takes +-3 to 4 balls
3 to 5 years – takes +- 4 to 5 balls
5 to 10 years – takes +- 5 to 10 balls
Other items needed to create your item:
Patterns – we prefer you give us the pattern. Pattern can be download from the internet and cost +- US$ 5.50 + (+-R89) depending on exchange rate.
We have a stock of many patterns to choose from – or we can adapt using an existing pattern.
Crochet hooks and knitting needles, scissors,
Buttons range from R3 to R10 a button
Ribbon and other trims.
Average prices range of our items. (Depending on style)
Age 6-12 months-girls from R165 to R250
Age 18-24 months-girls From R185 to R300
Age 3-4 years girls from R250 to R350
Age 4-5 years –girls from R250 to R350
Age 6-12 months –boys from R165 to R250

Payment:
We prefer to be paid on order or 50% on order with balance at collection.
You can pay by EFT or credit card.

Postnet courier overnight is +- R130
Registered mail is much cheaper - not a good idea when they are striking.
We post to all over the world and SA.
Knitting takes about 1 to 2 weeks - My Mom Pearl has all day to knit
Crochet styles take longer as I only crochet at night. 2 to 3 weeks.
