Celeste Janse van Vuuren matriculated from Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool in Pretoria in 1997. She completed her Higher Education Diploma with specialisation in Pre- and Junior Primary Education in 2001 at the University of Pretoria. She then went on to complete her Honours BEd Degree with specialisation in Special Needs Education in 2006 at the University of South Africa while teaching Grade 0 at a preschool. From 2005 to 2006 she taught at a primary school (foundation phase). In 2007 she completed a Diploma course in Child Kinetic Science where the focus is on Child development through Movement. In addition, Celeste completed an Integrated Learning Therapy (ILT) Course at the Centre for Integrated Learning Therapy. In the years to follow, she completed an Honours BEd Degree with specialisation in School Guidance and Counselling (supplement) and a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology at the University of South Africa on a part-time basis while working at an Independent School (Grade 0 - Grade 12) as a Learning Support Educator within the Academic Enrichment Department. In this position, Celeste was also responsible for the presentation of the Kiddi Kinetics program offered to the Grade 000-0 pupils. Celeste completed her Master’s Degree at the end of 2013, which included an internship year at an Independent School (Grade 0 - Grade 12).
Celeste's experiences as a teacher (preschool and foundation phase), a learning support educator and as an Educational Psychologist have afforded her numerous opportunities to interact with diverse learner populations.
As an Educational Psychologist, Celeste takes special interest in the identification and support of learners with learning difficulties. She approaches her clients in a compassionate and interactive way, while getting to understand their unique circumstances.
