I partake in this review as I wrote a book about old age home living so ones can make the right choice. I came into Emily during the previous regime. Emily has been blessed with a new manageress who is patient with us and not controlling in the least. She is not matronly but relaxed and allows the sunshine over all. Life is bliss in Emily now though the bullies among us who victimize are still here and will hopefully soon find God in their lives and leave others be. If one is not expecting too much as far as food goes also if one can afford to buy additional food youll be content here. We have a stunning empathic lady who has had to do with Emily for many years and makes life easier knowing one can call on her in times like eg [the narcissistic tenants that dont allow the sun for others. This lady has genuine love for the elderly. She is the financial manager with a busy schedule but tries to make time for the elderly.
My Mother, deceased a few years ago, lived at Emily Hobhouse Home for many years up until her death; Emily Hobhouse was always clean, tidy and well taken care of; it had such a lovely 'home' atmosphere and my Mother was very happy there and staff and inhabitants were always very friendly and helpful; activities, functions and fund raising was attended with zest by all of us children and my sister and I have always thought that we hope that we will be lucky enough to live at Emily Hobhouse when we retire; Emily Hobhouse even did the catering for my Mother's funeral and we will never forget the love and kindness that we and my Mother had experienced there!
