Overall it was a great experience and staff was very helpful and understanding. Getting in the water was the best ever. Skipper knowns his job and all was safe and pleasant. Will only go out to sea with Riptide. Thanks.

We had an awesome experience going deep sea fishing with Riptide. Andrew is the best skipper ever. Just before we went on the boat, two other boats flipped, but Drew handled the passengers and boat with the utmost professional manner as you would expect. He took us in the sea with a roller coaster ride through the waves and once settled helped us taking off our life jackets and helped us bottom fishing, together with Deon, they work hand in hand and help wherever they can. Even try to ease the people who is nauseous. It was the most awesome experience ever! For someone who could never ever think about even getting on a boat I will for sure go again with Riptide and Andrew. They are the best team with the best service ever seen! Thank you Riptide for an awesome experience, from the owners Stephanie and Ivan right through to the crew taking you out, you are superstars.

The service that you get from the time you book to go and catch the fish and on the boat is excellent, the skipper knows his job and the geelly is the best he helps people like me that don't know anything about how to catch a fish. They helping the kids and have lots op patients. And afterwards they will go and clean your fish for you just the way you want to.

Riptide Fishing Charters is a well established fishing charter business and we operate from Shelly Beach on the KZN South Coast of South Africa, just and hour's drive from Durban.

We operate from the Shelly Beach launch site which allows us the luxury of a dry launch, so there is no need to get wet on those chilly winter mornings which is often the case when launching directly from the beach. Our boat is a 28ft Butt Cat.

We pride ourselves in offering a professional service and our skippers are experienced fisherman with many hours logged out at sea.

We can cater for all skill levels, from novice anglers to fly fisherman. Children and women are welcome and we even have an on-board toilet especially for the ladies.

An added bonus to many of our fishing trips is the excitement of witnessing dolphins, sea birds, turtles and even whales. If you are lucky enough you could even experience the excitement of the annual sardine run, which is an experience all of it's own.

All bait and equipment is supplied, but you are welcome to bring your own rods, reels etc.

Besides the fishing, we also do pleasure trips up and down the coast

Shelly Beach is nice and centrally located on the Lower South Coast, and with the ever popular Shelly Shopping Centre located just a stones throw from the launch site there is plenty to keep those family members busy that do not want to partake in the fishing activities.
